About the Event

Keynote Speeches

Four dynamic keynote speeches, each 8 minutes long, focusing on innovation or trend-related topics. These are serial entrepreneurs, VCs, or other key figures of the local and global innovation ecosystem. 

Startup Pitches

Six local startups will each have 5 minutes to pitch their projects to the audience.

The startups will vie for the "Startup with Flair" award, with the three winners receiving a cash prize of 300, 200, and 100 RMB for the first, second, and third prizes.

There will be no judging panel; the audience will vote for the winners through a 10-minute voting session after all pitches.

Networking Session

Network with entrepreneurs, investors, and key figures in the startup community.

The evening will conclude with a networking session featuring free-flowing beer, soft drinks, and pizza.

This will provide ample opportunity for attendees to connect, share ideas, and discuss potential collaborations.

The Speaker

Emily Tse
Deputy Head of Investment Promotion of the Shanghai Office of InvestHK

Ms. Emily TSE, Deputy Head of Investment Promotion of the Shanghai Office of Invest Hong Kong, has a wealth of experience in supporting different scales of Shanghai and Jiangsu enterprises to set up their presence in Hong Kong.  Her expertise is across traditional and emerging industries, with particular focuses on business and professional services, creative industries, consumer products, tourism and hospitality, and family offices.
Invest Hong Kong is the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Department responsible for attracting and retaining foreign direct investment which is of strategic importance to the economic development of Hong Kong.  The Department works with overseas and Mainland entrepreneurs, SMEs, and multinationals that wish to set up an office – or expand their existing business – in Hong Kong.

Dr. Gang Lu

Founder and CEO TechNode.com

Dr. Gang LU is the founder and CEO of tech media company TechNode Group (TechNode and TN Global), the co-founder of BEYOND Expo,  as well as the Chairman of the Macau Science and Technology Association. He also ran TechCrunch China in 2013-2019. Dr. Lu's significant contributions to the international technological innovation ecosystem position him as one of Asia’s foremost influencers in the global technology sector.

He received the Entrepreneurial Award from the British Council’s Study UK Alumni Awards (China & East Asia) in 2017-18. Dr. Lu got his Ph.D. in Wireless Communications from the University of Sheffield, UK.

Wei Zhou

Founder & CEO XNode

Wei Zhou is the Founder and CEO of XNode Accelerator & Venture Capital Fund. He also holds positions as secretary of the Global Service Provider Program (GSPP) in Shanghai and has been a senior member of the EO Entrepreneurs' Organization Shanghai Chapter, an international non-profit organization, since 2011. In 2015, Mr. Wei Zhou founded XNode, which is China's leading innovation accelerator for both big enterprises and startups. He is also an active investor in a number of technology companies, Between 2000-2004, he was with Roland Berger and then joined Vision Real Estate investment, Jade Invest. He founded Belgravia Capital, which resulted in a successful exit to a public Japanese company. 

Oscar Ramos

Managing General Partner of Orbit Startups

Oscar Ramos is a Venture Partner at SOSV ($1.5B AUM), where he is Managing General Partner of Orbit Startups, a program dedicated to scaling breakthrough companies from emerging and frontier markets in Southeast and South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. 

A “full-stack innovator” with expertise ranging from product design to corporate strategy, Oscar built and led his own micro-fund investing in early-stage Chinese startups prior to joining SOSV. He began his career in the corporate sector working in R&D with Ericsson and Telefonica in deep-tech applications including mobile network protocols, cybersecurity and bio-technology. He holds a Masters of Engineering in Telecommunication from UPM in Madrid.

Jelte Ansgar Wingender

CEO Founders Lair & China Country Partner Beijing for German Accelerator

Jelte is the CEO and Co-founder of Founders Lair, a technology platform that supports over 20,000 startups from more than 130 countries worldwide with access to global resources like acceleration programs, investment opportunities, corporate POCs, and startup competitions.

Jelte is also the China Country Partner in Beijing for German Accelerator, where he spearheaded operations to bring German scale-up startups to China. Before this, Jelte was the APAC and China Director of Startup Grind, the largest independent startup community organization in the world. He was also the first foreign employee at the Chinese state-owned enterprise Innoway, where he developed the corporate innovation arm.
